Lockdowns can only delay a pandemic.

I could see some value in locking down an area if it put of the outbreak until the summer time or if the lockdown allowed for the development of treatments.

Sadly, it appears that the Chinese suffered from a brutal zero COVID and now will suffer an outbreak during the worst time of year for the sickness.
