MY HUNGER FOR CHRIST

images (10).jpegsource

I’m filled in my hunger to praise your greatness;
in my thirst to serve you, I am refreshed.
In my fear of you I rest secure

putting on terror, like a coat, and awe.
When I bow before you I am exalted.
When I’m humbled you come and raise me up.
Freedom is mine, although I’m enslaved
to cousins, for in your name I call.

The wounds and pain you bring me are balms
that run through my heart, my spirit, my soul.
