Thanksgiving is not an event, its a lifestyle! Its not something you do when things are good and dont do when things are seemingly bad. Thanksgiving is a part or tool for worship and as such should be done consciously and unconsciously. Some folks have 1001 reasons why they give thanks to God, but today I will be sharing 4 reasons why we should give God thanks.
1)We should give God thanks because he has given us not just life but eternal life:

1 John 5:20 explains that Jesus is the only true God and he his eternal life. I John 4:13 also says we know that he lives in us and we live in him because he has given us his spirit. Because, we are in him that is true, we have eternal life. He has also given us all that partains to life and Godliness, so give God thanks!
2)We should give God thanks because he has given us access to reign in life:

Romans 5:17-For If by the trespass of one man death reigned through that one man,much more surely will those who has recieved the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through one man Jesus.
He has given us access to reign in life,we do not fail in this kingdom and because he has given us eternal life, everything a believer has received from him has an eternal value.
3)We should give God thanks for his love:

Romans 8:39 explains that we cannot be seperated from the love that is in christ Jesus. Do you know why? Because God's love for us is not dependent on us,its depends on him.
Romans 5:8- God demonstrates his love for us in that while we were yet sinners christ died for us.
The Goodnews about God's love does not end in the truth that christ died for us,the better news is that he was raised for our justification. We have a risen lord, our high priest is alive and he is seated at the right hand of the father interceeding for us. 'Right hand' does not mean that christ is seated at the right side of the father, seated at the right hand means that christ is occupying an equal position of authority with the father. Because of God's love and his finished works, we are seated with christ and as such we have been given the same measure of authority, we occupy a position of authority. So,give God thanks!
4)We should give God thanks because he has given us right to sonship:

If you have been born into christ, you have been born into an inheritance which is sonship and this by the spirit of God.
Romans 8:14- As many that are led by the spirit of God,they are the sons of God.
We should give God thanks because he calls us his sons. Because of the finished works of christ,Jesus became our first born and we became other sons and as he is so are we in this world.
Because,he cannot be limited by time and space,we cannot be limited. Because he is powerful,we are powerful. Because we are in him that is lifted,we are lifted! So give God thanks!
