Nothing is Impossible – We’re Limitless!

“For nothing will be impossible with God.”—Luke 1:37

You may have seen this line of Scripture on stickers, mugs, wall art and definitely online. This is one of the most popular verses and many peoples favorite. And for good reason, this Scripture gives us hope, it lets us know that we are not limited by our abilities. It reminds us that if God is with us, nothing will be impossible for us.

Personally, I am 100% certain that trust in God makes the impossible possible. If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while you’d know that I suffer from major self-doubt.

For years, I let fear and the lack of confidence in myself limit me. Towards the end of 2018, I prayed and I asked God to help me trust him more. I needed to stop worrying about whether I can do things and accept the fact that God can.

When I did that. When I accepted that nothing is impossible for God. When I allowed him to take over in my life, everything changed.

Last year, I tried to build a business within the limits of my own abilities. Abilities that I had years of experience but zero confidence in. Nothing seemed to work, I spent hours in front of my laptop and by the end of the night I’d feel like I got nothing done. It was like a recurring cycle of doom. Dramatic, I know, but I really felt like giving up.

This year, I decided to try something different. I decided that I will have full faith in God. Everything I do in my life and in my work will be with His permission. I will pray before every decision and every task. I will look at every opportunity through the lens of what God can do through me instead of what I can’t do on my own. That one decision allowed my business to make more in the last two months than I did in the entire year last year. How is that possible? Only through God.

The problem many of us have is that we believe something only after we see it. But God wants us to believe without seeing. I admit my faith grew even stronger when unreal things started happening. But those unreal things wouldn’t have started happening if I didn’t first start to believe all the testimonies I heard and all the stories in the Bible.

In the Old Testament, we see, over and over again, that nothing is impossible with God. Moses was an ordinary man who was chosen by God to do an extraordinary task. Moses had no confidence in himself, but he believed God and he had accomplished so much because of it.

In the New Testament, Mary, a simple girl, who was still a virgin was told that she would give birth to the Son of God. Obviously, she had questions like many of us do, she was human, after all, “How can this be seeing that I know not a man?” She asked.

Initially, she looked at things from a natural perspective, in human understanding, this was not possible. How could she have a baby if she has never been with a man? She was later reminded of other impossible things that God had made possible and she believed what the angel had told her. And then she did give birth to the Son of God.

I want to remind you today that no matter what situation you are in, God’s promises are not dependent on man. You don’t have to know certain people or be known in order to fulfill your destiny. It is not a requirement to make connections in the natural because the spirit of God will overshadow you to bring forth His promises.

You may think, “If I could get my boss to like me, then he’d give me that promotion. If I could get into that certain school, then I’d be qualified. If I had some important, influential friends, I might be able to get a good break.” But that mindset is what limits you. God’s promises are not dependent on who you know. Promotion doesn’t come from people. It comes from God.

When it’s your time to be promoted, healed or restored, God isn’t going to ask for references. Just like with Mary, he will make it happen without a man. It’s time you stop thinking about how big your problems are and consider how big your God is.

The dream He has placed in your heart may seem impossible; it may look too big, but don’t try to reason it all out. Believe that God can make a way even when you don’t see it. Then trust that God is working behind the scenes. When negative thoughts crop up saying, “It’s too late. It’s impossible,” learn to ignore them. That may be one report, but remember God has another report. He always has an option we can’t see. So it doesn’t matter where you’ve been or who you know when you are a child of the Almighty God!
