HOW TO RENDER AN ACCEPTABLE PRAYER TO GOD

What is prayer?

• Prayer is a request regarding a need

• An act of worship

• A way of giving thanks or gratitude

• A way christians communicate with God.

  Some people have been praying to God in vain their entire life simply because they do not the right way to pray,it is nothing to be ashamed of even the disciples begged jesus to teach them how to pray. The way we pray to God matters a lot,if we were before our earthly father,we would be careful of the manner we speak to him,not to talk of how heavenly father,the creator of the whole universe.

HOW TO PRAY

• Be Sincere : Jesus warned his disciples not to pray like the hypocrites, who were praying in public places so that they can be seen by people and receive the praises of men. Our prayer is to God not for human recognition,not that we cannot pray in public,we should just make sure we are sincere,so our prayer would not be in vain.

• Live a godly life: If you want your prayers to be accepted by God you must live a godly life,the bible says that the prayers of a sinner is an abomination to God,
  Once our sins seperates us from God our prayers would be in vain.

• Avoid vain repitition/lenghty prayers: Some believe that when their prayers are lengthy with lots of repeated words and catch phrases God will surely answer their prayers,which is not so, God knows what we want before we even think of asking him ,he simply wants us to pray from our heart,it does not matter how long or short it is. We should always try to avoid vain repetition.

• Be Humble: We should not approach God with an arrogant self- righteousness,if we present our humble selves to the lord he will exalt us. we should not pray like the pharisee man below,who thought he was more righteous than his fellow man..

• Pray With Faith : If we want God to answer our prayers we must first believe in him,believe in his abilities, have faith that he will answer our prayers if it is in our best interest.

• Pray for the right reasons: Sometimes our prayers are not answered because we pray for the wrong reasons ,God is not a genie who gives us any stupid wish we want. Let us pray with good motives.

Lastly when you pray,pray in the name of christ,if your prayers are not answered then fast,God will surely answer our prayers in jesus name. Amen
