Cold as Ice – Hebrews 4:7

Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

One of my favorite ministers and authors is AW Tozer. He once made a statement that I believe rings true with far more of us than we may want to confess. He said…

“Most christians don’t hear God’s voice because we’ve already decided we aren’t going to do what He says.” AW Tozer.

So what about you? Think of something you have absolutely no desire to do. In fact, think of something you know you just flat out won’t do. Go ahead. Think of something. Now, What if YHWH tells you to do it? What then? Will you do it? Really?

Many of us think we don’t have a hard heart towards YHWH. In fact, many of us can’t imagine that thought about ourselves. It’s always somebody else, right? Surely we have a heart to follow after Him. However, maybe we need to challenge ourselves in that though.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!

What is frightening is when we say:

“All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.” So Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.” Exodus 24:7-8

We are quick to say "we will be obedient", but if we sin defiantly and reject the Law of Moses, we are guilty.

But the person who sins defiantly, whether a native or foreigner, blasphemes the LORD. That person shall be cut off from his people. He shall certainly be cut off, because he has despised the word of the LORD and broken His commandment; his guilt remains on him.” Numbers 15:30-31

Anyone who despises the Word is insulting the spirit of Grace.

Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace? Hebrews 10:28-29

These are terrifying words.

I think of this as when GOD places you in situations that can grow you, but it's scary and it hurts, yet not walking through that fire is disobedient.

I agree, sometimes we have to accept the fire of the king on earth, rather than the wrath of the King of Heaven.

Terrifing indeed my friend!!!

Howdy sir simms50! GREAT reminder and thought-provoker! lol..everyone needs to search their hearts on this one.

Yep!!! We have to decide are we going to do it God's way or God's way??

lol! exactly!
