Get better news with this 2-step system

I recently came across this post.

Perhaps you completely agree with it, or maybe you don't. Regardless, it's quite clear nowadays the MSM has an agenda that's more focused on money and power than covering facts.

It's all about narrative, but you knew that already.

As functioning members of society, and as Christians, we need to be informed. We're sheep among wolves for crying out loud (Matthew 10:16)!

In an interview with Time Magazine, the great Swiss theologian Karl Barth advised the young to "take your bible and newspaper and read both. But interpret the newspaper from your Bible."

For me, I have a 2-step process to help me stay grounded:

Step #1: Use a RSS reader to subscribe to sources you trust: An RSS feed is the OG way of subscribing to a source. An RSS reader is an awesome way to keep tabs on all these subscriptions in one centralized place. Think of it as a digital, customized newspaper! I personally use Feedly, but know that Flipboard is good too.

Step #2: See what the crazies are talking about: As much as it pains us all, it's important to keep up with the MSM talking points. I skim the headlines on Google News for 10 minutes in the morning to see who we're supposed be mad at for the day.

The big takeaway here is that this is an ongoing process. Use this system to be more intentional about where you get your information from. Then, as Karl Bath says, interpret what's going on in the world.
