Saint Vinko

in #christianity6 years ago

I am working as a professor at a Catholic school, and our patron is Saint Vinko. Some of my students try to be the apostoles of Gods mercy and love and always donate a modest financial contribution to the public kitchen, founded by the church. We all are proud of St. Vinko, who was born into a poor, peasant family in France. St. Vinko is best known for establishing the Society of Merciful Sisters, i.e. the Daughters of Christian Love. We celebrate his day on the 27th of September, and his non-decomposed body is kept in the chapel at Rue d Bac in Paris.

His motto can be best briefly explained as: "Lord, help me, not to pass near someone in need with a rigid face, stiff heart, and accelerated steps."
