I for one believe that one does not sin when they have a glass or two as long as it does not give out other intentions according to the bible where it says that Paul gives specific instruction that "overseers," or elders, are not to be characterized by drinking alcohol (1 Timothy 3:3). This is seen as a perfect example that the bible does not stop us Christians from consuming alcohol, it shows that we do not need new rules being formed from specific denominations to stop us from the rights we deserve as per the scripture that one is to (Ecclesiastes 9:7) "eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do."

It's reasonable for church leaders to be told not to drink alcohol. It's reasonable for a pastor to say the same thing to his church based on these verses:
(Romans 14:20-23 NIV) Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. {21} It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall. {22} So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. {23} But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
(Romans 15:1-2 NIV) We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. {2} Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
