A few days ago, I saw a news about a local artist, Sarah Geronimo, who recently held a concert in Las Vegas, Nevada in the US. Everyone was shocked when she cried during the concert and eventually she made a confession about her life. She has been very successful in the limelight for 12 years since she started, but deep down she felt empty. The success, money and fame cannot fill the emptiness in her heart. Here's a short video clip during her concert:
As I was watching the video, I realized a lot of things in this world. True enough money can never make you happy. Nothing and no one can ever fill the emptiness in our hearts, only Jesus can. The money we have in the bank, the fame that we are receiving right now, the success that we are aiming for and experiencing right now will never fill the hole in our hearts. There will always be a time when we will look for something to fill those emptiness. There are a lot of celebrities local and abroad who took their own life despite the success in their own field, why? because they feel empty inside, they felt that everything they do is in vain. Yes, true indeed. Their greatest mistake is that they never looked unto Jesus. They did what they thought will make their miserable life end.

But there's always hope when we look to Jesus. He alone can fill that gap in our hearts. Fulfillment in life doesn't mean you have a lot of money in the bank, or the success and fame that you are experiencing in life right now. But it is about living a life pleasing to God. Doing His will and following him. When we accept Jesus in our lives, we can see our true purpose in life, we can find meaning in everything when we do it for God. Our talents can be used to bring glory and honour to God, our jobs can be used to share the good news about Jesus. Everything will be worth it until the end. We can find joy in our hearts when we live a life that is pleasing to God. A life lived with God is a life with a purpose.
