Google has released an emergency security update for the Chrome browser that affects over two billion users worldwide (Windows, macOS, Linux).

The immediate danger: This is a zero day vulnerability (meaning it was actively exploited by hackers before a fix was available) located in the crucial V8 JavaScript engine. Attackers are currently using this flaw to potentially execute harmful code just by tricking users into visiting malicious websites.

What you must do now

  • Check for the update immediately (go to Settings > Help > About Google Chrome).

If you have the latest version installed - all good. Just check for updates more often ;) especially, with AI Bugs and Vulns are found more often these days.
