One cigarette per day can cause heart attack and stroke

Drinking only one cigarette a day can increase chances of heart attack and stroke for 50 percent of males and twice more for women, reports GazetaExpress.
Researchers have found that those who drink a cigar a day can find themselves directly endangered by heart and brain attacks, as well as those who drink 20 of them.

Men who drink a cigar a day are 46 percent at risk of heart disease like men drinking. The risk of stroke is 41 percent higher than those who drink 20 cigarettes a day.

Only one cigarette increases the risk of coronary heart disease by 48 percent compared to those who do not drink cigarettes.

On the other hand, women are twice as endangered by heart disease as those who use a cigar, compared to those who do not drink at all.

The conclusion came from 140 studies conducted by Professor Allan Hacksar of the College of London Institute, which states: "There is no safe level for smokers in cardiovascular disease".

"Smokers are better off to stop smoking than to reduce the amount of cigarettes, using medical advice for interruptions if necessary and thus preventing the risk of these two complications."

Smoking cigarettes has fallen far in recent fashion, where it is reported that a quarter of people drink one to five cigarettes a day.

Those who drink only one in every 24 hours may think that problems with their health will be minimal. This is only when it is the case of lung cancer, where one cigarette per day increases the risk of five percent for this disease by those who drink it 20.

However, the study says the cuts in cigarettes have other side effects such as heart disease and stroke, which appears to be higher in women than in men.

Of the 100 people who drink 20 cigarettes a day, about one in seven of them will suffer from heart attack or stroke due to this habit. Of the 100 who drink a cigar a day, one in three will be affected by heart attack or stroke, reports the GazetaExpress study.

Detailed results published in BMJ show that women who drink one cigarette a day, almost one third of them are at risk of heart disease and stroke by those who drink 20 cigarettes a day.

The research is done in order to tell smokers how even so many cigarettes a day are harmful to health.

"The risk of cardiovascular disease is more related to those who drink less cigarettes a day," writes an associate professor at the University of Ottawa in an editorial related to the problem.

"First, smoking light (with low levels of nicotine), the usual smoking and smoking of fewer cigarettes, without exception, increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Only cessation of drinking can help you, otherwise you are at risk, "he says.
