Coffee

in #climate9 years ago

Coffee has been in our culture for 1000s of years, and yet with the gross weather effects from climate change, coffee beans are losing there potential growth. The plant must have perfect conditions to bloom its max potential weight, and no consumers are willing to take this and other plants in consideration for starting at home climate controlled hydroponic set ups to study the effect of weather with the plant. One barn with 10k sq ft could hold up to 10 plants with potential growth and development. Most consumers don't try and live "off the gride" and many take these actions to be a jump towards that direction when in fact it's the opposite. The cost of growing coffee indoors could reach between 100-250k$ and yet that really isn't a big investment considering 90% of Americans are wealthy. A avg doc or lawyer could invest in a project of this scale with hired workers to tend to the job yet most Americans are just too busy? I don't buy it money is money and government grants could pay for the labor based on research. In conclusion Americans should take responsibility for there actions and try to at least invest in being farmers or even share holders of global green house projects
