Do Programmers with Beards Write Better Code?

in #code3 years ago (edited)

There's been a lot of debate lately about whether or not programmers with beards write better code. Wired even wrote a post, "The Secret of a Successful Programming Language? A Really Great Beard
." Some people say that the beard is a sign of intelligence and creativity, while others argue that it just gets in the way.

One programmer decided to put this debate to the test. He grew a beard and spent six months writing code. He then shaved his beard off and compared his old code to the new code. To his surprise, the code he wrote while bearded was significantly better.

Why did the beard make such a difference? No one knows for sure, but some scientists believe that the beard helps keep the brain cool, which leads to better thinking ability.
