Barista - a more and more popular profession in Australia

in #coffee7 years ago

In Europe still, many people do not distinguish barista work from the waiter's work. Meanwhile, in Australia, the demand for this second profession is growing rapidly. The position of "coffee brewing" may or may not seem too ambitious, but it is a very responsible and passionate job. Australians know this not only due to training in this direction but also by respecting the profession on a daily basis. It is hard to be surprised.

COFFEE DOES NOT ASK, COFFEE UNDERSTANDS!

Australians love coffee. And not just any. With the shine to look here a black drink in the overflow version or with a lot of whipped cream. More in the climatic cafes than the famous network of cafes, especially latte and cappuccino. And all in a friendly atmosphere, sometimes changing a few words with the owner and often inhaling the freshly ground coffee beans. Despite many connecting points, each cafes are different. Everyone just as unique, and if you want to visit them all, you have to have a lot of free time.

WHEN THERE IS DEMAND, THERE IS SUPPLY
No wonder baristas are here because the demand is huge! People with hands-on skills and passion for coffee are highly respected here. The customers know that the final taste of the complex drink and its delivery (the visual aspect is no less important than the taste!) is in the hands of the barista.

Many people that are immigrating to Australia are already there with a "paper" in their hand. Barista courses in Europe cost several hundred in local currency, but in the kangaroo country... several hundred dollars. Obviously, a foreign certificate will be an asset when you are looking for a job. And try your best, especially at the beginning of your adventure in this country. Earnings up to 20-25 Australian dollars per hour is not to be scorned.

GOOD BARISTA = GREAT EXPERIENCE

However, it is worth remembering that a good barista does not leave after finishing the course or after a few months working in a good cafeteria. The skills of brewing a coffee are one thing, the second is the knowledge of the varieties of beans and the skillful description of the flavors and aromas of the black beverage. And it takes time, commitment, and even talent. Australians know this, so they appreciate a good barista.
