Happy Saturday, Hive!

This week's Crypto News Highlights includes Kate Winslet, Filecoin, and OKEx! So, read on!

Unless it’s a Ponzi scheme

Kate Winslet, who is known for her iconic role in Titanic, will star and produce Fake!

The movie is based on the OneCoin Ponzi scheme according to an unpublished book by Jen McAdam and Douglas Thompson, and it will be written and directed by Scott Z. Burns.

Founded by Ruja Ignatova in Bulgaria, OneCoin followed the typical structure of a multilevel marketing scheme with a crypto element. However, it wasn’t backed by a blockchain or network and thus many victims lost money to it.

Filecoin Gets Support

Both Gemini and Kraken have announced trading support for Filecoin (FIL) prior to its mainnet launch.

Meanwhile, Huobi will list it once the mainnet has gone live.

Filecoin is a decentralized storage network developed by Protocol Labs which allows users to buy and sell unused storage on the network. It has been in development for three years.

Is OKEx in Trouble?

OKEx has suspended all cryptocurrency withdrawals indefinitely.

Sudden halting of withdrawals is due to one of the exchange’s key holders being “out of touch” as they are “currently cooperating with a public security bureau in investigations”.

However, it was swiftly noted that the investigation is due to personal issues and other OKEx functions remain normal and stable.
