Binance Takes The Block
Exchange platform, Binance, has begun to block U.S users from accessing its platform.
This move comes more than a year after they announced they would stop serving U.S residents from September 2019.
The centralized exchange is now sending emails based on IP addresses encouraging U.S users to transfer their assets out within 90 days.
Monero Stands Strong Against Attack
Monero (XMR) has been hit by a Sybil attack over the last 10 days by an ‘incompetent attacker’.
A batch of malicious nodes have been trying to interfere and disrupt the Monero network in a Sybil attack but recent Monero updates have made it more resistant.
Sybil attacks are a way for attackers to try to subvert the reputation of a network through a number of pseudonymous identities.
Ethereum’s Fork Bug
The bulk of Ethereum’s (ETH) DeFi ecosystem went dark after a latent bug in the code split the network’s transaction history in two.
The split resulted from a code change that was secretly inserted into a previous Go Ethereum (Geth) update.
Some Ethereum node operators ignored the update because they were unaware it included a change to Ethereum’s consensus design.
A post-mortem by Geth indicates that the bug was intentionally triggered.
