It's a lovely day indeed! I got another coin, or rather, coins, a set of the Philippine English Coin Series, issued from 1958 to 1966. These were the first coins issued by the country as an independent nation after US administration, and all have been demonetized. This coin set consists of coins in denominations of 50 centavos, 25 centavos, 10 centavos, 5 centavos, and 1 centavo.
All coins are in uncirculated/brilliant uncirculated condition. This was a privately issued set.
All coins from the English Series were considered common, but being old coins, they are seldom seen. Uncirculated coins are hard to come by and are the only ones with this condition that are valuable.
Design
The obverse side of these coins is the same as its previous US-Philippine coin series. The difference lies in the reverse side, which shows the emblem of the republic.
Composition
The 50 centavos, 25 centavos, and 10 centavos coins are made from a nickel-brass alloy. The 5 centavos and 1 centavo coins are made from a brass alloy.
Being the first coins issued by the country as a republic, these coins have historical significance, which adds to their value among collectors.
