Color Challenge - Friday - Sky Blue: Where The Blue Skies And Indian Ocean Meet.

During a beach hop session, I happened to stop at Warner Beach to see if it has changed much since I was last there about 5 years ago. Getting out of the car, I was blown away by the view in front of me with its different shades of blues both in the sky and of the ocean.

It was my lucky day, not only was the sky and ocean stunning but I had the privilege to be mesmerised by two kitesurfers playing in the deep blue waves for at least an hour. The conditions for kitesurfing was perfect, a sunny, cloudless day with constant side-shore winds blowing at 15 to 21 knots. Kitesurfing is a sport where they use a small surfboard and a kite powered by the wind to ride the waves.

I am proud to report that the kitesurfers of South Africa in 2016 set a new World Record for the "Largest Parade of Kitesurfers" with 415 kitesurfers completing a one-mile course Between Dophin Beach and Doodles in Cape Town.

Warner Beach is a small little coastal village south of the Manzimtoti River. The ideal beach for watching dolphins and whales playing in the warm Indian Ocean, perfect for surfing and also for the annual “Sardine Run” which takes place during May through until July.

Very interesting post. I would like to see more pictures of the "Kitesurfers" in your future posts. Do they compete or is it for entertainment?

These guys were only practicing bigsteem. I did place some last year but it was a very windy day and I had to take the shots from the flat.

Oooo, ocean, it's very nice remember about vacation )

What a wonderful sight to see, the beautiful blue ocean, the beautiful sky and even the kite surfers. You captured the essence of the beauty of nature at its finest. Thank-you for sharing the wonderful pictures!!! :D

Thank you very much cabbagepatch. I was fortunate to be at the right place and at the right time. Enjoy a lovely weekend!

Great post and photos. The 415 kite surfers must have been a great site to see with Table Mountain in the background.

I think this is what you are looking for sea-cottage. Enjoy a fabulous weekend.

WOW! Ain't that a picture!

That's a really beautiful place. I'm a person who love the sea and so I can stay on this beach a pretty long amount time just watching to it.

I share your passion for the ocean enzor. I can sit for hours watching the waves, I find it very therapeutic.

@crazymumzysa Wonderful! Upvoted and followed. Follow me too, i also take part of colorchallenge and have many beautiful pictures of nature.

That's very beautiful color challenge.

Nice blue skies. One day i would like to see my kite in it :)

Aah! My old surfing spot! I used to surf at Baggies beach by the rock pool, back when I was young, skinny and had lots of hair. 😂 Amanzimtoti is my hometown.

I miss those days when I could just spend hours walking on the beach and surfing.

There is an interesting article about "blue therapy" and how being near the ocean calms you and makes you more creative. I can attest to this as I was very creative during my "beach days".

I miss the ocean...time for a visit I think.
