Color Challenge - Thursday Green - A View of Downtown Los Angeles

Last winter, we got a lot of rain in Los Angeles and everything was incredibly green in January. I decided to take a quick trip just south of downtown to a small park that offered a unique view of the city. This photo is just about a year old, taken on my new (at the time) iPhone 7 Plus. I hope to see Los Angeles this green again!

Nice picture! I'm surprised to hear that LA got a lot of rain as I associate LA with mostly a pretty dry area. :) Resteemed & Followed

Nice one!👍How many degrees do you have in January?

Thanks! It really depends but it's generally between 50-75 degrees Fahrenheit in winter.

That was the year after El Niño, right? The year we're supposed to get rain...nothing. The next year, everything's green. Nice picture BTW.

Thanks! And yup, this was the year after the El Niño disappointment. Better late than never I suppose!

California and rain are like, well, oil and water. We’re so often without it and then, when it comes, we send it into concrete channels that carry it straight to the ocean. I heard once of a California city that built cisterns, like the Romans, under their central park and are therefore able to sell water to their neighboring cities.
