I wanted to capture a photo of a bubble popping. What better instrument to pop a bubble than a sharp pencil, right? Well, it turns out that the tip of a pencil will pass straight through the membrane of a bubble without popping it... I had absolutely no idea this would happen! The bubble only burst once the entire tip of the pencil had passed through and the wood made contact with the bubble.
About a million bubbles later, I never captured the popping bubble image I had set out to get. But I did get some interesting shots of the pencil passing through the bubble membrane, and I learned a lot about bubbles in the process. Here is one of the images I captured:
This photo was taken using a Nikon D7100 DSLR with a Tokina Macro 100 F2.8 D.
Macro photography is a true test of patience at times... but I do love it so!

BuckyHi @seajai. I really enjoy your photos. They are very inviting and natural. Your attention to detail in the photos is refreshing. I love this marco. There is a tension to it, I guess from the anticipation of the bubble about to POP! :)
Thanks @buckydurddle for your encouraging comments about my little bubble :)
Love it! I hope my resteem will help!
Thanks so much... I really appreciate the resteem!

That kind of reaction to my photos always makes me feel great. Thanks for your comments!
Such a brilliantly unique image @seajai.
I didn't know that a pencil tip wouldn't pop a bubble either ~ Which makes the image seem quite surreal. Seeing the macro of the pencil though, makes you realize how the 'barbs' could so some serious damage to the bubble. Following. Resteemed. 🦋
It's amazing what details a macro image shows you in day-to-day objects that you don't usually notice. I think that's why I love macro so much!
Thanks so much for your great comments :D
