Da fine maggio nel mio giardino stanno fiorendo i gigli. Anche quest'anno i primi a fiorire sono stati i gli della varietà "cocktail twins" che avevo acquistato alla Lidl. Mi piace il colore che hanno, un rosso cinabro non troppo carico.
Since the end of may lilies are blooming in my garden. The ones that bloomed the first even this year were the "cocktail twins" type I bought to the Lidl discount. I like the color they have, a cinnabar red not too strong.

Ora i fiori sono tutti appassiti e tra il fusto e la foglia stanno già spuntando i primi bulbilli ascellari.
Le piante che avevo l'anno scorso ne avevano fatti tantissimi, alcuni li ho conservati e li ho ripiantati sperando che sopravvivano e mi fioriscano tra qualche anno. Non so se il fiore avrà le stesse caratteristiche e colori della pianta madre o verrà un mix di colore tra i vari gigli che ho piantato.
Non penso di conservare quelli nuovi, non avrei più spazio per futuri gigli nel caso volessi comprarne.
All the flowers faded away now and between the stem and the leaves bulbils are sprouting.
The plants I had last year did a lot of them, I collected some and I planted them hoping they will survive and bloom in future. I don't know if the flower will have the same characteristics and colors of the mother plant or they will show a mix among all the types I have.
I don't think I will collect the new bulbils, I don't have enough space for future lilies if I will buy new ones.
