๐ Good morning (here)! โ
"... as I caught only the "downvoting" thing. Is it? What happened?"
In a nutshell, yes, this is it. In the section mentioned, you will find links to the core "End of the Road" post. In which I attempted (knowing it was a waste of time, but ... just to get it "immutably enshrined" in this blockchain ...) to appeal to the "big boys" about addressing HW's destructive tendencies and hold them accountable ...
It is important to me that others understand (which is most typically the case) that I was NOT PERSONALLY the target of the downvotes. Someone else was ... I divested due to how these types of actions are destructive of the time, hard-earned $$s, etc. that everyone else puts into trying to make this blockchain a better place. And, therefore, a profitable investment ...
"Since you are still here then why not post for the socializing part of it?"
Yes, there is an undeniable ... "power" ... associated with this. I don't pretend to fully understand it, but ... In spite of what I have just written above, many go on in spite of the obvious ...
Removing money from the "social engagement" part of the appeal of participating with others on this blockchain tells you a lot, very quickly ... ๐
"Any one in particular that you would recommend without aggregating my amazement of technicalities? ๐"
Hmmm. Can't answer this one in a sentence or two ... ๐๐คทโโ๏ธ I first began investing in crypto assets in August 2017 (including Steem Hive), so I know a little bit about it ... Hahaha ...
Seriously, I guess the best answer would be whatever interest you have in following up is fine with me, as I am retired. So ... I find Discord a great place to "talk," if that is appealing to you. Send me a Friend Request in there and I will respond to it. I am @roleerob in there, too.
It took time for me to follow the different links in your end of the road post but I have to admit I am still not clear about the downvotes. Given that people in here, with big or small investment, came for the money (aside from the community, duh!), downvotes should only be done on extreme cases. So why on Earth were you downvoted? And how frequent was that for you to totally stop writing?
As covered in my post, I wasn't ... You may wish to think me in the way I refer to myself, from time to time - a contrarian ...
How so? Most everyone else, if they quit at all out of frustration with downvoting, do so because they have now experienced firsthand what they have likely witnessed happening to others. Not me ... Why?
Simple. At least, to me ... The "in my face" attempt to bring down another Hivian was unacceptable to me, in general. In particular, these actions are destructive to my investment. I invested to have it increase in value. Read the first part of my post, where I cover how that has gone ...
Others may view it differently. Fine! All are obviously free to do as they wish. How delusional are they? Well, clearly that is a matter of opinion and a topic that others have gone round and round on for years.
Agreed. Note well I did NOT say I disapprove of downvoting entirely, as is true for some (usually those who have suffered from it firsthand). I appealed to the very few accounts on the Hive blockchain that actually can make a difference, to take a close look at this. Details in my post ...
Response? "Crickets" ... As expected ... Technically, I did have a DM with the ... "manager" of HW, at the request of someone else. I will not characterize that other than to simply state it was a waste of my time ...
I am still here writing. Supporting others. Having "severed" the link between doing that and ... "getting paid." Human nature being what it is, if anyone is willing to consider the Hive blockchain a ... "social experiment" ... then we all have our opinion as to how that is working out ...
I've made my decision and +$25,000 is now gone from an investor who should've made that decision much, much quicker (covered in "Strike 1" of my own comment to my post).
Thank you for the questions. And for investing your time in reading my post. The response here is hopefully helpful. If you have any follow-up questions, comments, and / or concerns, please feel free to let me know.
