Be warned, Stanhope's 2012 special Before Turning the Gun on Himself is very dark. If you don't like Bill Burr you will probably hate Doug Stanhope.

Donald Glover also known as Hip-hop artist Childish Gambino is a man of many talents. His success as an actor and musician only help his ability to perform as a comic, which is not always the case. Glover's special Weirdo is well thought out and very unique, it is especially impressive because Glover was only 26 years old when he produced the special.

Dave Chappelle who created the widely beloved sketch comedy show Chappelle's Show, is also thought by many to be the most talented comic of all time. Deadpan, lethargic and the king of one liners, there is no replacement for Steven Wright. This uniqueness possibly explains why he has been able to maintain his success as an actor throughout his whole stand up career. He has made cameos in a plethora of major films such as Reservoir Dogs, Natural Born Killers and Half Baked. A Steven Wright Special is his first major special and it still holds up.
