Upon arriving for our dinner reservation at the Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn, we were approached by a gentleman that obviously was employed there and told us that they had a cancellation for a comedy show taking place on the upper level. After being told the price for the dinner and show, we decided to take in the show. We had just arrived in Lambertville, New Jersey, and had earlier checked into the inn for a few days of Lambertville and New Hope. We both like stand-up comedy. In addition, I have great respect for comedians because one of the hardest things to do is stand up in front of an audience by yourself and make people laugh!

It was the first time that the restaurant was hosting a comedy show and their hope is to have many more. This inaugural event presented a first-rate lineup. Justin Gonzalez was the host of the event. He told us some great stories about his life and even made fun of his gender-bending look when talking about his wife. This man can also sing, as he is a classically trained opera singer. He is also the lead singer of the Killer Queen Experience, an obvious tribute band. Most importantly, he was likeable and funny.

Jeffrey Paul was up next and according to what I was able to find online came with a very diverse resumé. He has been a School Dean, English Teacher, Police Officer, Roadie for Bruce Springsteen and a Manager at a Strip Club. The funny thing is I can picture him in all these roles. In addition, he made an appearance in the film, "The Irishman." He had a lot of fun playing off the crowd.

Chris Roach, whom has toured with Kevin James, was the headliner. In addition, he played Mott on the television program "Kevin Can Wait." He also had a recurring role as Rodney on "One Life To Live." His deadpan humor worked very well with the crowd and his style of humor. Even his laugh that he followed some jokes with was perfect!

Both comedians made fun about performing in Lambertville in an attic above a restaurant. Jeffrey Paul even came out after the event was over to talk to people at their tables and promote the possibility of future shows. Overall, the show was great hitting you with the type of humor that makes you laugh spontaneously. Here's to a future of more comedy!
