Ever catch yourself staring at things and thinking, 'What on earth?' Well, I do that most of the time! Today, I've got a head-scratcher that'll leave you chuckling more than scratching.

I'm a ten-stick-a-day kind of guy, and one fine day, I found myself looking at the design of my cigarette pack in the backyard. No, it's not the Mona Lisa, but a gallery of doom, featuring diseases like mouth cancer, nose cancer, etc.

Now, I've been wondering, do other countries spice up their cigarette packs with disease imagery? And why warn us about death by smoke inhalation when, logically, we should just ban the sale of cigarettes altogether? (Yeah, I know the answer, and so do you.)

Because, apparently, it's okay to get sick... just make sure you're well-informed about it!

On the side of the cigarette pack, you'll also see something written in bold capital letters that says "QUIT SMOKING," and there's a phone number. Hmmnnn??? So, they even set up a call center to help people quit smoking... Isn't it easier to make people stop smoking by not having cigarettes available in stores?

Untitled-1.jpg

In my country, smoking cigarettes on the street is a no-no. But oddly enough, there are street vendors selling cigarettes outside establishments. Police stroll by, but they're not apprehended. Why is that? Is it because there is no law prohibiting selling cigarettes on the street?

If smoking on the road is a big 'no', then logically, shouldn't selling smokes on the street be a double 'no'? Or are they expecting us to buy and then go home to smoke?

Smoking in establishments is also forbidden, but one night at the club, I discovered that clubs and bars sell cigarettes! They sell them inside. Sometimes there's even a promo girl roaming inside the club offering cigarettes for sale. So, you can buy them but not light them? The funny thing is when you buy a pack from those promo girls, sometimes there is a free lighter. Hmmnnnn???

Cigarettes aren't just grocery store staples; there are these local neighborhood stores selling per stick. Now, selling cigarettes to minors is a no-no, right? But hold up – I see minors buying smokes from these stores. Do they flash IDs, or is it more like, 'Yeah, you look old enough for lung damage, go ahead'?

And get this, the local government told these stores, 'If someone buys per stick, you can't hand them a lighter.' But what if Mr. Per Stick decides to grab a lighter too? Do you snatch it from their hands, shouting, 'No fire for you!'? Hahaha!!! Or do you tell them to go home and light your cigarette there?

Here's another funny one, as far as I know, when companies hold contests, they need to obtain a permit. Now, cigarette companies love throwing contests left and right. What's puzzling is, why do they get the green light? Isn't it clear that if they're having a contest, it means the more you puff, the more chances of winning? So, what's the real deal?

Are they really telling us to quit, or are they telling us that quitters never win?

Many more simple things, to be honest, confuse me in this world. Although I know the reasons behind why these things happen, what really puzzles me is how these kinds of ideas manage to slip through. How about you? Do you also have thoughts similar to my story?

Even though I ask myself this, I don't have any plans to quit buying cigarettes even though I know it's dangerous to my health. Because I also think that if I don't support this product, they will lose customers. What about the employees of the cigarette company and the tobacco farmers if their sales decline, right? How about their families?

I don't want to be the one to get the money they'll use to buy food to put on their table. Hahaha!!!
