Whenever Marvel comics and DC comics release new movies in one year , the die-hard fans of both giant companies start bragging about their favorite movies and sometimes they start crushing the rival company. But this year it was sort of different. Because the two companies released their own versions of "captain marvel". so the heat was up , but which one was really better?
Although comics were originally made for kids , these days Hollywood is all about super-heroes and the audience are mostly adults. But despite that, comic movies should still have the charming comedy sense. In this case shazam! was really something different. I mean when you watch it you'll have a hard time believing that it was made by the same company that made "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice". Zachary Levi and Asher Angel really bring their best to the big screen. And I don't want to say bad things about either movies but in case of Captain Marvel , sometimes it felt like Brie Larson was trying too hard to show her character's strength and tell the audience that she's the best. Of course due to the controversy surrounding things Brie Larson said and her interviews "Captain Marvel" became a hit and performed successfully in the Box Office. But Shazam! didn't do against it 100 million budget.
I'm not a die-hard comic fan , but I watch movies a lot , and based on my knowledge as a comical science fiction movie Shazam! is better. But if you have the time and money you better watch both movies so you can do a good comparison between the two. In my opinion both movies can satisfy comic fans.
