Ok, this is what I was doing yesterday instead of drawing a new panel of Real Superheroines...
Animated my Java Jaguar business card.

I started playing around with the "Imagine" feature of Grok at grok.com and it turns out it is pretty amazing. It automatically generates audio, but this video I converted it into a gif so that I could embed it here in this post. But look at that! Isn't Java cute?
So when you upload an image, it just kind of goes into automatic mode and animates it however the site feels like animating it. Originally, Java just dipped his paw into the coffee cup, so I had to prompt Grok with "have him lick his paw after dipping it into the latte" and this is what it came up with.
Of course, I had to play more. Here is the title page for Real Superheroines:

Then tried this Kickman poster. I actually gave zero prompt for the AI. It decided on his own, that, "Hey, I see the word Kickman along the top, I think I'll make this guy kick..."

So then I decided to try out some non-comic art. Here's a digital painting I did a while back called "Taming the Surf Dragon." Pretty cool, right?

How about now?

Or this?

Which do you like best?

All three of those were generated without prompts. In that last one, it looks like the rope she has tethered to the dragon is tangled around her, so I thought, what if the dragon causes her to wipe out?

Pretty amazing tool. I eventually ran out of free uses, but apparently I can try again in about 2 hours. But I will leave you with these last few arts converted to video:

I'm pretty sure if the tools keep advancing this quickly I'll be able to create my own animated features in no time...
The technology is amazing. I have seen @paolobeneforti animate some of his paintings this way, but these seem more lifelife in the way they move. What do you think of this as an artist? Is it just another tool or is it replacing human craft?

Well, I have mixed feelings... with this particular tool, it is really cool how it keeps the same artistic style. Like with image generators it does sometimes do weird things like add an extra hand for a little while. But I can't believe how it can take a 2d figure and spin it around to see behind it and fill in the blanks for how it should look from behind.
The Surf Dragon wipeout made me grin, the rope wrap turns into chaos that still reads clear and it tells a tiny story. That's my pick because it's playful and kinda gutsy, wow'. With how fast this stuff is moving your gonna be making little animated shorts before my budget brain finishes its coffee :).
I've got my sights set on a seven-season run of Kickman, LLC the Animated Series.
so bold, and I love that vision. Seven seasons is a big arc and feel exciting :) If you map simple season beats now, the budget and timeline stuff definitley gets way easier later. Are you planning quick AI previz to test openings before you lock the season one bible?
