Moonie is a crazy ass f*ck. There are comics — usually crossovers— where he’s all well-mannered and heroic, does and says the right things (if a bit gruffly), hardly brags about his extreme wealth, and just gets the job done with minimal fuss.
Then, other times, he goes bat sh*t crazy. Like, literally schizo multiple personality, see his gruesome Moon God everywhere insane...
I’m convinced in crossover story arcs, the creators don’t want to utterly distort the plot and make it go haywire, so they depict Moonie boringly. But in his own books, he shines. If and when he gets his own TV show or movie, I hope they go so Legion on him that the Shadow King runs away screaming.
Star artists Sienkiewicz and Platt in particular have had their way with portraying Moonie. I’m very proud of how far the character has come and how he endures to this day.
Even if he’s completely nuts.
