Was thinking changing the rewards around a bit, lowering the amount of SD that goes out and upping the Steem instead and maybe powering it up directly to users instead of sending it as liquid.

I think this contest is great for new users. I don't think you can go wrong no matter what path you choose. It has not caught on as quickly as I had hoped but I bet it will. I'll keep trying to find comments by newer users... but sometimes the ones by vets are so could I can't pass them up.
