Firstly, it must be said that this is only at primary school level. Presumably, for older age groups, there is no ban.
Secondly, we've seen a ban on the burka in some European countries and lots of Europeans complaining about their culture being changed by Islamic immigration.
I don't like bans unless they are absolutely necessary, but I fail to see why this decision by Iran is newsworthy to the extent that it is shown on the front page news-feed of Reuters. Anyway, the ban by Iran can only be detrimental to itself as English is a basic requirement for international trade and diplomacy.
