im planting a few flowers this week. i put in geraniums (the new ones are pink though) cornflowers, and Osteospermum flowers, (daisy variety). no marigolds as god knows why i kill them. ????
cornflowers are possibly my fav. perhaps i should paint them?

I like all colors of geraniums. One year I had one that was dark peach or coral. They are quite beautiful too.
I have other flowers as well and love them all. I get your attraction to the cornflowers. They are really quite whimsical and bright.
The marigolds bloom all summer, through the fall and nearly all the way to winter. They do grow well here, so I try to include some each year. When the others have faded away, the marigolds are usually still shining bright for a while longer and if you let some of the seeds dry, they can be planted again in spring.

i do that with calendula.. i rip the seed heads off and throw them everywhere. (that and alyssm) lol. i guess calendula are my marigolds :-) I have gorgeous dark pink geranium too... i find they are very hardy here in Australia. even in a plastic tub in full sun they seem to survive most seasons. and flower so well.
