My father's parent's lived out in the country and my grandfather made us a swing in one of the trees in their yard. It was rope tied to a tree branch that looped down and then back up to attach to the branch about two feet from where it was originally tied. He also took a plank and sawed it off about rear-end sized and cut a notch in each end so that it would stay on the rope when you sat on it. Unfortunately, the tree branch was not perpendicular to the ground and we always swung crooked.

I never had a swing in a tree but I did play around a lot of nice ones in our backyard, growing up. We had a beautiful woodsy one & it was a delight playing outside. :)

We climbed a homemade ladder to a platform in a tree, where a Tarzan rope was fastened. Then, of course, we grabbed the rope and jumped off the platform. We did this over and over, for hours. Much more fun than a video game!

Tree Swings???? The only on I can remember is the one at Hunter's Diner. My family used to always go to for ice cream. It stills hangs there to this day. just a little red saucer that made me dizzy but it was fun to do while eating ice cream.
I enjoyed a nice tree swing in my yard. It felt like we were flying very high because the tree was on a hill sloping down

Don't remember many swings in trees. I do remember visiting someone before when I was a kid and they had a tire swing.
