Decentered Media Podcast 098 - Community Media as Trusted Communication Practice

How do practitioners and advocates of community media engage with people in a caring and trusted way? That is the question that I discussed with Lauren Stacey, a Social Care Recruitment & Retention Officer at Leicestershire County Council, and with Shreen Mahmood a community radio programme maker and advocate for Muslim women's voices. We talked about how they approach their programmes and films, and what they think is gained by having a community-focussed media outlook that is about caring and mutual support?

Lauren's work is available through Inspire to Care, who can be followed on Facebook.

Shreen is setting up an online radio station, Muslim Connect Radio, that will host conversations and discussion from around the world, seeking to inspire, empower and connect.
