Surprisingly, Intel and AMD confirmed a new alliance. The companies will put aside their differences to create and market a new processor for laptops. The purpose of the component is to offer state-of-the-art gaming in lightweight systems, but offering a solid option for players.

The new chip will be part of the eighth generation Intel Core line. It will incorporate an Intel core with a Radeon GPU. According to The Wall Street Journal, this alliance between companies is the first for several decades, to be exact, since 1980.

The details indicate that this new processor will not be a direct competitor of AMD's Ryzen products. This company specified that its processors are not fully designed for video games, but that the new product will be.

For its part, Intel explained that this processor will be the first to feature Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge technology, which uses a network bridge for information to flow at considerable speeds. To make matters worse, this will allow a smaller size, as well as a simpler production. Likewise, the use of HBM2 will considerably reduce the energy demand and will facilitate the absolute dedication to graphic processing.

This new processor does not have an estimated release date. However, Intel and AMD said that the first teams that will have it will be available in the first months of 2018.
