At the end of the movie, as the credits were rolling I noticed that they were in French so I did a little digging. Didn't find giant skeletons but information that might interest you. The movie is best described as documentary-fiction. There is a page about it on this site: http://thegreaterpicture.com/the-orion-conspiracy.html (the entire site seems interesting, I haven't had a chance to explore it further).
