No. It just provides another means for narcissists to "express" themselves.

I was on vacation, so I missed this and several other contests. Still, everyone should upvote me because I'm perfect. You should have been following me since I started on Steemit. ;-)

I'm not sure if social media makes people more narcissistic. I have noticed more of a need to comply and not stand out from the crowd. That's probably why I'm pleased it wasn't around when I was young.

Yes.

Saying yes, it would be wrong, rather than becoming narcissistic, social media highlight our inherent characteristics, love our ego is something natural, but with social networks, we have the opportunity to make it notice much more.

50/50 It really depends on one's attitude towards the use of social media. It may be used for time pass only, or being really social, or business/marketing. Social media can be used either way but it depends on user @bunnypuncher

My answer is Yes my dear friend @BunnyPuncher

Yes it is,with many reasons :
Its interesting
Its fun
Its connect peoples
Its serve as promotion

Yes it sure is!
That's one of the reasons you can only find me on Steemit.

I like you contest @bunnypuncher .. congratulation's

the truth is that people want to be whatever they want to be

I'd say it doesn't make us more narcissistic, but with social media, you can see who actually is narcissistic.

Let say!

maybe but it all depends on person how to deal with it.

I agree, it depends on you, on me, on everyone and on the use that each one gives you.

It really depends on one's attitude towards the use of social media. It may be used for time pass only, or being really social, or business/marketing. Social media can be used either way but it depends on user.

Very clear your point of view. Excellent!

yes , it's making us ..

Maybe the majority. But it is something mental, and perhaps from a point of view is not bad. That way people can have better self-confidence as long as they adopt a positive attitude in their real life.

I will just say 'YES'

Narcissism:
Exaggerated and excessive admiration that a person feels for himself,
for his physical appearance or for his gifts or qualities.

Having this concept as a basis we can say that it is something literal.
At some point you can feel so good with yourself that in social networks you express it that way,
being direct with your beliefs, with your appearance and intelligence but sometimes you can also be in a bad mood, sad or depressed and the social network does not give you That mood you need, you only get it in real life with your loved ones. Then the social network makes you be null in that moment where without any problem you can share from your joy to your sadness. Everything is mental, if you use it only to publish your vistorias and hide in your defeats you will opt for a narcissistic stance.

Post voted for my healing trail @ApoyoLatino

Well, my perspective didn't have it that social media makes us more narcissistic

I think so. But I would have liked the question to be "Is it bad or good to be narcissistic?

I only have one word really in answer to the question: "Definitely".

Not really....I'm looking at positive side...making acquaintances all across the world .

Many social networks by the trend and entertainment and also by our untrained mind, makes us fall into the narcissism quickly. But steemit I think he has overcome that narcissistic barrier. I feel that everyone here is experiencing in a more human way without reaching narcissism. Well at least most do not.

Each head is a world so everything depends on the users and their minds.

Absolutely yes!

i think when people become more popular, they think are more important that other people and you cant talk whit this people like past away. but is true depend of the type of person

My answer is yes, look at how so many people post selfies daily.. but maybe even more important how people feel the need to show others what they have (bought) and somehow feel they need to have the best things in their network.. My guess is yes it's defo contributing ;)

Yes and we still ugly :D

Not getting bored anyday even without anyone to find around you is something i really appreciate in this generation.

Great to try!

It is definitely making us to be that way, think that's why social media is so successful.

Many people use social media to get acceptance and build their ego. So I don't think it's making us more narcissistic. Though someone always getting to many attention from social media may start feeling too highly of himself/herself which could be narcissistic in a way.

Honestly I think it really depends on the person. It's good to have some self confidence but if you're relying on someone else to give you that boost, you may be walking a thin line between remaining somewhat humble and appreciative or becoming addicted to the attention and praise which will lead to the narcissistic tendencies. I don't think social media is turning everyone into narcissists but it's definitely a double edged sword. If you look at artists that create music or characters in media, a lot of times you get a sense of who is doing for the sake of the art and who is looking for the fame and attention. It surprises me that those who are definitely in it for the attention last very long. A few people come to mind but I won't mention names.

In my opinion, no.

Clear that if above all facebook

in my opinion no. but everyone is responsible for himself

I'll just say yes but there's always a no

No harm in trying to win!

I cannot agree more on this.. " definitely" People start to post every move or thing they do, and other people also start to follow and comment on any post in social media.

Yourre either are a narciscist or not, it wil make you more a loner and the protest of a loner doesnt have the inpact like the protest of the masses

Honestly, I think it could go both ways, using social media can make some narcissistic while others less confident about their own body. Depending on the viewer's reaction it can dramatically change how someone views themselves.

Indeed yes, because people nowadays love to promote themselves and seek attention.

Nothing is good or bad, it depends on the person that uses that. For someone that has a narcissistic tendencies, social media is a great way to show to others how amazing their life is, or how beautiful they are. They feed on that attention.

On the other hand - I saw amazing social media profiles, that are made with good intentions, like helping other people or communities, animals and nature. Sadly, these ones are less appreciated in our modern society. So again, it depends on the person...
