Welcome to the first Art Prompt Writing Contest of 2018. The art portion ended a few days ago and I selected this piece from @azbeen as the winner earlier today.
Using this amusing piece of art as a story prompt, I am asking authors to submit original pieces of fiction of between 500 and 1500 words. There is some leeway at the top end as I will only consider this if judging is close, so if you run to 2000 or more words, don't panic!
I decided to continue what I did with the last contest, and run this for two weeks. There will be 1 overall winner who will receive 20 Steem plus the SBD payout from this post. There will be 3 runners up who will each receive 5 Steem.
The contest will end at midnight UTC / GMT on the 1st of February.
Post your stories to Steem and link them in the replies below. Make sure you include the artwork in your post and attribute it to @azbeen.

Yep, I always do the same because sometimes people mean midnight to be the beginning of that day and sometimes they mean it to be the end of that day. Now we know @gmuxx means the end of the day when he says midnight (for future reference :))

Heard you yesterday talk about this contest in the discord lounge and now that I read your post, I got really excited to participate. I've never done fiction writing before, so that would stretch me out of my comfort zone, which is the only way I can grow. I'll write this fiction and get back to you.

Now THATS a new direction. Ought to get some humor stories off that. Too bad I can't trade STEEM for HUMOR on the internal market, or I'd maybe submit something.

Discovering this contest makes my personality split - one gets inspired to write and create but the other can't choose which contest to enter first. So many opportunites here on Steemit!
