It can be as old as you'd like, after all, it's a showcase of your quality workmanship. I try to advise everybody to use newer articles, and if they don't win, try again the next day with a new one, solely because you can dramatically increase your exposure on here. Though you can enter an article of yours that is of any age, you cannot enter the same piece more than once. I hope that this helps you out.
