There was a real problem with the probable cause, as the seat belt law specifically states the law isn't meant to be used against citizens to target them, or something of that nature, it was just worded differently when I opined in an article on it. Honestly though I've seen some stuff take place over the last few years, and if the individual had just complied, they'd been on their way, they don't comply because they know they, either driving without a license, carrying guns or drugs on them, and they, actually engage cops in a violent manner. But this went way overboard because as a passenger in a vehicle, it was determined here years ago that a passenger doesn't have to provide identification to the police if they aren't doing anything wrong, or suspected of doing wrong doing, like for example, being in a car that has open containers or something of that nature, suspected underage drinking. Maybe if they had pulled the driver over on the street, maybe they had somewhat of an argument about the seat belt. That still may have been sketchy given anyone could have taken their belt off once the car pulled over. It's just usually a given natural most people do. Once that car though, was in that private driveway, it made the whole seatbelt question mute. Or if they had said we seen him without it on while they were driving, but they didn't and to take and beat that man the way they did over such a lame thing, just doesn't cut it, like the prosecutor said, it just wasn't a good look. I totally agree, there's been some high profile stuff gone on here the last few years, and simpleton stuff like this to arrest somebody doesn't help. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised they made that quota video up just to find a way out and around that whole mess. I know you are going to come back with something over that "if they'd just compiled", but it's the reality if you don't want to lose your life depending upon the threat verity, or find yourself face first in the dirt. The last guy who lost his life, I think he may have wanted to just die to be honest, being a felon on parole carrying a gun, running from the cops, keep resisting while your on the ground, acting like you are trying to reach for the gun, who does that unless they figure they don't want to go to prison again for years. He probably figured he'd be going back until he was in his sixties with the record he had. Some people prison life for that long just isn't something they think is worth living for. That's just my opinion. I have lifer brothers, it isn't pleasant by any measure.
