RE: Core dev meeting #83

in #coreyesterday (edited)

This time it's even lower... sorry to bug you with this again. Your sound was probably the best one (but still around 50% volume for me), all the others very, very low... for example, I could barely hear Dan, even at 90% volume (had to go to 100% volume to undertand things), then, if I have to consider the same sound level as Dan at 100%, @mcfarhat was at 70%, Bartek (sorry if I butchered the name) was like at 80%.

I also noticed that in the first part where @mcfarhat was speaking, that sound level was like on par with yours at around 40-50% vol... but then by the end I need the 70%.

I need to do a test run on Jitsi (never used it, to be honest) and see if I can figure out why I have this experience.

Are you recording the video with OBS Studio, correct? If you see sound not reaching the yellow for voice, then it's probably very low, by experience.

I will give it a try and see if I find any tricks on Jitsi.

The big saviour of these calls is the automatic subtitles... but even those have typos from words that the thing does not recognise.

it is very low

yep, only people with amplifiers can listen to it... almost. even with headphones becomes hard if they gain on them is not high.
