You don't have to use AI, just will be left behind. Everyone is a developer now, but non-developers suck so bad with AI it isn't even remotely close. Understanding development and technology will go a long way even with AI coding. Dunning-Kruger is going to prove to be a big issue for many of these "new developers".
This isn't new, technology has sherlocked a lot of jobs. Wait till you see the damage AI does to the trucking industry. One of the largest industries that will be quickly replaced once auto driving is normalized.

Fully agree on people coding without any domain expertise. We've already seen the flurry of shitty vibecoded app that leak api keys in dubious console.logs.
Trucking, taxis, bus drivers... Many industries are ripe for extinction.
