RE: Blockchain Decentralizes Governments

in #corruption8 years ago

Central power has been using a strategy of Gradualism for decades.

With blockchain moving a lot faster they are faced with a choice between ceding power, or moving faster. They are choosing the latter as you would expect and this coming struggle is between centralisation and decentralisation. Forget left vs right, it is an illusion. This battle is about control.

Agreed. Nuclear war notwithstanding, WW 3 will be fought in cyberspace - centralization (govts and corporations) vs. decentralization.

Given price trajectories, over the next several years, the whole cryptospace should be worth well in the tens of trillions of dollars given that other game changing ideas that decentralize and transform various industries and platforms are being launched. Already we see ICOs offering:

Decentralized CPU (Golem)
Decentralized storage (Filecoin)
Decentralized gaming marketplace (Dmarket)
Decentralized insurance (Etherisc)
Decentralized exchanges (Bitshares)
Decentralized web hosting (Substratum)
Decentralized government (Bitnation)

The benefits to humanity are too great to be ignored. Institutions and certain governments are beginning to embrace these technologies.
