WAC Casablanca sells 60,000 tickets for virtual game against coronavirus

Wydad de Casablanca sold 60. 000 tickets for a virtual football game against the coronavirus, the club reported today on its Facebook page.

The tickets for the historic Casablanca club were priced at 30 dirhams (three euros) and were sold in its entirety, with the respective revenue going to the special fund created by King Mohamed VI.

The monarch's fight against the economic effects of the pandemic has been successful, and since its creation it has already tripled the initial amount of one billion euros.

In the same initiative, Wydad put on sale a special jersey with club red and the team logo, along with the phrase “We stand together”, that is, "we stay together": the shirts sold out in 20 minutes.

Globally, the covid pandemic - 19 has already caused more than 141 thousand deaths and infected more than 2.1 million people in 193 countries and territories.

Over 465 1,000 patients were considered cured. In Portugal, 629 people died in a total of 18. 841 confirmed as infected, according to the balance sheet made today by the Directorate-General for Health.

The disease is caused by a new coronavirus detected in late December in Wuhan, a city in central China.
