Let's discuss!

I think the appreciation of ETH far outweighs any consideration whether 5% is good enough. Becoming a validator is simply a cherry on top. Suppose ETH goes from $470 to $9400 by the end of next year. It's irrelevant what the gain in validating blocks is. In the beginning of a bear market, it's probably the best course of action to dump ETH altogether and keep your money in Nasdaq (IXIC) until the bear market has run its course.

That's very true! Although staking during the bull run could be a good way to get extra ETH, assuming you have a rough idea of the timing of the markets. Would just have to end stake/sell before the bear market OR set aside an amount of ETH you'll never sell, and use that for staking

Assuming you sell the bulk of your cryptos as close to the next bull market top as you can, what would you invest in to make gains while crypto is correcting?

I wouldn't short crypto. It could be a pathway to getting properly rekt because you never know what crypto is going to do. My plan is to buy into the stock market. NASDAQ sounds good coupled with some blue chips to pay dividends.

Even as a bystander to staking ETH, it sure is amazing to watch unfold. Using the law of supply and demand to decide the staking return shows more of the brilliance involved in the Ethereum project.

The annual performance is very good, unfortunately I don't have the 32 ETH to do the Staking :(

There's always staking pools for amount smaller than 32 ETH!
