Yes, absolutely don't let any voting power go to waste. I think you genuinely have the community's best interests at heart and I believe you'll do a good job in your selection.
Maybe delegates of a particular number of SP can comment on and tag you for upvote consideration. One nomination per day, no guarantee that it will even get the vote, and you can still choose to upvote any post you like - no obligation to vote on a delegator's nomination.
I think this is a good idea, and will keep in mind moving forward. Perhaps if you comment a link or comment link on the daily update it is thrown into consideration? That makes it easy and brings engagement to this blog.
