Today I will share what inspired me to make this illustration.
Un día aprendiendo un poco sobre el estilo de dibujo ¨cartoon¨, mi hermana menor me escribe a mi celular diciéndome que la visitara ya que, tenía tiempo que no me veía y me extrañaba. Aparté tiempo y compartí con ella una tarde.
Estando con ella me hizo recordar mi niñez y pensé ¿cuándo fue la última vez que me entusiasmé por algo?
One day while learning a little about the "cartoon" style of drawing, my younger sister wrote me on my cell phone telling me to visit her because she hadn't seen me for a while and she missed me. I set aside some time and shared an afternoon with her.
Being with her made me remember my childhood and I thought when was the last time I was excited about something?
Mi hermanita me recordó aquello que me prometí a mí misma ¨mantener viva a mi niña interior¨. Podemos ser maduros sin dejar de ser niños pues, el ánimo, la gracia, la generosidad, el perdón y la fe son aquellas cosas que nos inspiran al ver uno de esos rostros sonrientes.
Claro, he crecido, ya no soy una niña, tarde o temprano me tocaría madurar. Sin embargo, el entusiasmo por las cosas pequeñas como una niña no debo dejar morir.
Esta ilustración es en honor a mi hermana María, una forma de recordarme que, aunque llegue el afán del día a día, la actitud que debo adoptar es una actitud de fe en que todo pasará, todo estará bien y ser agradecida.
My little sister reminded me of what I promised myself to "keep my inner child alive". We can be mature without ceasing to be children because encouragement, grace, generosity, forgiveness and faith are those things that inspire us when we see one of those smiling faces.
Of course, I have grown up, I am no longer a child, sooner or later it would be my turn to grow up. However, the enthusiasm for the little things as a child I must not let die.
This illustration is in honor of my sister Maria, a way of reminding me that, although the hustle and bustle of everyday life arrives, the attitude I must adopt is one of faith that everything will pass, everything will be all right, and to be grateful.
