WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR

So this is my bestie, Edna. A strong and focused young lady whose main goal is to transform society and empower her town folks especially women through art.

I had a conversation with her on WhatsApp telling her about steemit and how she could grow her market size and brand visibility on the steemit platform. She was excited about it but told me she had little time on her hand to blog since she had a lot going on. So then i offered to blog and promote her artworks on steemit.

newspaper feature.jpg

This was when she got featured in the Business and Financial Times, a local newspaper, for winning the WorldRemit and Miss Ghana Uk contest dubbed "MyFutureGh". The contest was about how one can use art as a developmental tool in society.

And this was me helping her out at her first exhibition. This is what friends do; help each other out. I was just performing my bestie duties lolx. Been by her since day one. It was an awesome event and people really liked her art.

And this is her brand name and logo. AZU COLLECTIONS which is under the parent firm " The Art Village" (i'll make a post on that soon). The main goal of AZU COLLECTIONS is to make quality and artistic hand-painted clothing which portrays Ghana and Africa as a whole for both sexes (male and female).

HER STORY

Edna Aninga comes from the northern part of Ghana and is the third of five kids of her parent. Her father was an artist so that's where she got her talent from.

growing up, Edy (that's how i call her) has always been crazy about drawing and artworks. She learnt how to draw at a very early stage. I won't say she consciously learnt it because she was the daughter of an artist and she grew up around paints and brushes so art came to her naturally. She really didn't take it serious; it was just a hobby of hers till she completed her tertiary education. She read journalism but was drawn to art than to journalism. She once visited her hometown, Bolgatanga. And on her visit, she made quite an observation about the standard of living of some of her town folks and how art entrepreneurs were taking advantage of the very talented local craftsmen in the town.

She then decided to create an online market for the local craftsmen in her town and also get actively involved in art and help train her town folks. This was a means of empowering her folks especially women. So that's how her art journey started; the rest is history. So far so good. She has chocked a lot of success and there are more great stuff ahead of her.

HER WORKS

Due to her dedication to her craft, her works are of the highest quality. Quality is something she doesn't compromise on. All her clothing are hand-painted so are of premium quality.

She takes orders outside of Ghana. And she will as from now be accepting STEEM or STEEM DOLLARS as an alternative means of payment. So you can order for a shirt or dress and pay in STEEM or SBD and your order will be shipped and delivered to your doorsteps.
