Creating my account - Methods and procedures
"Common and wild" method
If you have not created your account yet, do not wait any longer and click here to make the jump right now. The steps are:
We choose a username and click on continue or "continue" 1. (Do not forget to write down the account name and do not forget it)
We link our email address and click on continue or "continue". The system asks us to check our mail. We go to the chosen mail inbox and click on the link shown.
Let's link a phone number now. Steemit performs this process to determine that we are human and not machines creating accounts in bulk. When linking our mobile, a message should arrive in a matter of seconds2. We put the code we have received and now we just have to wait for a second email.
At this point the system will take between 4 hours and 72 hours (in some cases a little more) to send us an email with the final step for the creation of the account. It is important that once that second email arrives we follow these steps:
When you click on the second received email, a web page opens. Once there, we put the username back and make a backup of the master key that is being given to us. That key begins with the letter P.
The system asks us to enter the same key that you are giving us, in the box just below. Be very careful when copying and pasting. I recommend that you double click on the complete key and then right click to copy. I repeat: keep that key in several safe places. If you lose that key, you will be in serious trouble.
If everything goes well, you should be able to access your account. If you have an error or failure, contact support3 friends
1: If you read a message that says "Account name should contain only letters, digits, periods, and dashes" you should remember that account names in Steemit may contain only alphabet characters, numeric digits, periods and hyphens. For example: saturn-man or jealous-Man1980.
2: You must try the different operators. I have tested with Movistar and it works perfect.
3: To access the Steemit.chat chat rooms, you must create an account. I recommend you use the same name as your Steemit account as username.
Payment methods
In Steemit we can create accounts if we pay a commission required by the system. The methods I have used are:
Anon.Steem. It is a powerful tool created by @ someguy123. Here you can create an account in seconds. You can pay in STEEM, Bitcoin or Litecoin.
Steemconnect. It is a platform that uses the chain of STEEM blocks and allows you to create accounts, if we pay the commission.
The idea of payment methods is to create options for those who can not wait and want to dedicate themselves to Steemit in a professional manner. If you already have a Steemit account and have the necessary STEEM balance, you can use options like the Vessel wallet. This last option I only recommend to advanced users in Steemit.
Whatever your method of account creation do not forget the following ...
The first time we access our Steemit account, it is likely that without realizing it, we are using the master key. Before explaining the different keys of Steemit, I ask you to carry out the following steps:
Enter the "wallet" or wallet section.
We click on "permissions" or "permissions" (it's the second menu from left to right).
We will see the 4 keys but encrypted4. We place the green button just to the side of the "Active" or active key. We click on that button to show key. We are shown the active key that starts with a number 5.
Double click on said key. We copy and make a backup.
Now we can login using the key
