Autoridades policiales de China anunciaron la noche de este miércoles 11 de julio el arresto de más de 540 personas que pertenecían a una red ilegal de apuestas en línea. Los involucrados empleaban criptomonedas para evadir regulaciones locales y realizar sus apuestas en el Mundial de Fútbol de la FIFA.
Según reportó la agencia oficial de noticias Xinhua, la red ilegal ha estado operando desde hace 8 meses y desde entonces ha captado a más de 330.000 usuarios de distintos países, quienes generaron unos 1.500 millones de dólares en apuestas antes y durante el campeonato celebrado en Rusia.
